Tex Beneke Vinyl Records
Tex Beneke was an American saxophonist and singer who gained popularity during his time with Glenn Miller's Orchestra from 1939 to 1942. Born on January 12, 1917, in Fort Dodge, Iowa, Beneke began his musical career playing the trombone before switching to the saxophone.
As a member of Glenn Miller's Orchestra, Tex Beneke was an integral part of the band's success, providing smooth vocals and solos. His deep, rich voice and distinctive style set him apart from other singers of the time. Some of his most notable performances include singing "Moonlight Serenade" and "String of Pearls".
After leaving Glenn Miller's Orchestra in 1942, Beneke went on to have a successful solo career, releasing several albums and appearing on various television shows. He continued to perform until his death on July 31, 1991, at the age of 74.
