The KLF Vinyl Records
The KLF (Justified & Ancient Sonic Movement On Plain Dress) was a British electronic music duo composed of Bill Drummond and Jimmy Cauty, known for their eclectic and innovative style that blended elements of house, techno, acid house, and breakbeat. Formed in the late 1980s, the duo rose to fame with their debut album "Whitney Johnson" in 1990, which featured the hit single "What Time Is Love?".
The KLF's music often incorporated elements of humor, irony, and social commentary, as well as a strong sense of experimentation and pushing boundaries. Their second album, "The White Room", released in 1991, was a commercial success and further solidified their reputation as pioneers of the electronic dance music scene.
In addition to their music, The KLF were also known for their provocative and often controversial art installations and performances, which frequently challenged societal norms and conventions. Their infamous "K Foundation Burn a Million Quid" project in 2001, where they burned £1 million in cash on the Isle of Jura, has become an iconic moment in British pop culture.
