Five Star Vinyl Records
Five Star was a British pop group formed in 1984 by sisters Lorraine and Deniece Pearson, along with Doris Troy's son, Tony Thompson, and producer/manager, Bill Smith. The group gained popularity in the late 1980s with their upbeat, energetic sound, which blended elements of pop, R&B, and dance music.
Five Star's debut single, "Systematic Love," was released in 1984 and became a top 10 hit on the UK Singles Chart. Their follow-up singles, including "Love Takes Control" and "Rhythm of Life," also achieved significant chart success. The group's self-titled debut album, Five Star (1985), reached number 16 on the UK Albums Chart.
In the late 1990s, the sisters went their separate ways to pursue solo projects, with Lorraine Pearson releasing her debut single "Somebody Like You" in 2001. Although the group disbanded, their music remains a nostalgic favorite among fans of 1980s pop and R&B.
