One of the most iconic singer-songwriters of the 1970s, Cat Stevens (now known as Yusuf Islam) has left an indelible mark on the music world. Born Steven Georgiou in London in 1948, he began his career at a young age, releasing his debut album New Masters in 1967.

In 1977, Stevens converted to Islam and changed his name to Yusuf Islam. Although he continued to release music under this moniker, his output slowed significantly, and he eventually retired from the music industry in the late 1980s. However, in recent years, Stevens has experienced a resurgence of sorts, with several critically acclaimed comeback albums and performances at notable festivals like Glastonbury.
