Lovin' Spoonful's drummer Levon Helm was an American singer-songwriter, musician, and producer who left an indelible mark on the music world. Born on May 26, 1940, in Elaine, Arkansas, Helm began his musical journey at a young age, playing drums in various local bands before forming The Lovin' Spoonful with John Sebastian, Zal Yanovsky, and Steve Boone.

Hits like "Do You Believe in Magic," "Daydream," and "You Didn't Have to Be So Nice" solidified The Lovin' Spoonful as a staple of 1960s pop culture. After The Lovin' Spoonful disbanded in the early 1970s, Helm continued to perform and record music, often focusing on rootsier, Americana-inspired sounds.
