Louis Prima was an American singer, trumpeter, and bandleader who was a major figure in the development of jazz, pop, and rock music. Born on December 13, 1910, in New Orleans, Louisiana, Prima began his career as a jazz musician in the 1930s, playing with various bands and forming his own group, The Witnesses.

He appeared on numerous television shows, including "The Ed Sullivan Show," and released several hit singles, such as "That's a Plenty" and "Buona Sera."
