Throughout the 1980s, Phyllis continued to push boundaries with albums like "You Know How to Make Me Feel So Good" and "Living All Over Your Face". Her soulful voice soared on hits like "Gonna Get Along Without You Now" and "Living Proof", showcasing her incredible range and emotional depth. Critics praised her unique blend of jazz, R&B, and pop, with some even likening her to legendary vocalists like Ella Fitzgerald and Dinah Washington. Despite struggling with addiction and personal demons later in life, Phyllis continued to create music that was both poignant and powerful.
