Roxette Vinyl Records
Roxette was a Swedish pop-rock band that formed in 1986 and rose to fame in the late 1980s and early 1990s with their distinctive blend of catchy hooks, soaring vocal harmonies, and guitar-driven melodies. The duo, consisting of Marie Fredriksson on vocals and Per Gessle on guitar and vocals, released a string of successful albums including "Per Gessle's Roxette", "Look Sharp!", and "Joyride". Their music often dealt with themes of love, heartbreak, and relationships.
Roxette's biggest hit came in 1988 with the song "The Look", which reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Other notable singles include "Listen to Your Heart", "Dressed for Success", and "It Must Have Been Love". The band's music was often compared to other popular acts of the time, such as Madonna and Prince, but they developed a unique sound that set them apart from their contemporaries.
Roxette continued to release music throughout the 1990s, although their popularity began to wane in the early 2000s. The band went on hiatus in 2016, with Marie Fredriksson passing away in 2019. Despite this, Roxette's legacy lives on through their enduring catalog of songs and the influence they had on the music industry during their peak.
