The Meters Vinyl Records
The Meters were an American funk band from New Orleans, Louisiana, formed in 1965. The group consisted of Art Neville (keyboards), Leo Nocentelli (guitar), George Porter Jr. (bass), and Joseph "Zigaboo" Modeliste (drums). With their unique blend of rock, R&B, and funk, they quickly gained a reputation as one of the most influential and innovative bands in the city.
The Meters' music was characterized by its heavy, infectious grooves and Neville's distinctive vocals. Their songs often featured extended instrumental passages, showcasing the band members' impressive skills on their respective instruments.
