Wire Vinyl Records
Wire is an American indie rock band from Washington D.C., formed in 1980 by guitarist and vocalist Robert Wheeler and bassist Michael Lachowski. The duo's early sound was characterized by their use of atmospheric guitar textures, driving rhythms, and introspective lyrics.
In the mid-1980s, Wire added drummer Dave Pyynia to complete the trio. This lineup would go on to release some of the band's most critically acclaimed work, including the albums "The Great Divide" (1985) and "Hard Ground" (1986). These records showcased Wire's ability to craft infectious hooks and memorable melodies within their indie rock framework.
Throughout their career, Wire has maintained a strong commitment to artistic integrity and independence. Despite never achieving mainstream success, the band has built a devoted following and influenced countless other musicians across a range of genres.
